en ازنمایی رابطه «مرکز-پیرامون» در رمان «مروارید» اثر جان اشتاین بک Representation of “Metropolis-Satellite” Relationship in John Steinbeck’s The Pearl در رمان «مروارید» اثر جان ارنست استاینبک، تلاش نافرجام خانواده برای رهایی از فقر و ارتقای سطح طبقاتی خود، نماینده‌ای از مبارزه کشورهای پیرامونی برای کسب استقلال از کشورهای مرکزی است تا دیگر مورد غارت و کنترل آن‌ها قرار نگیرند. با به‌کارگیری نظریه وابستگی آندره گوندر فرانک و با توجه به تاریخچه بستر روایت اثر انتخاب‌شده، این مقاله با یافتن رابطه‌ای میان وضعیت شخصیت اصلی و خانواده‌اش و وضعیت ناعادلانه و سرکوبگر کشورهای پیرامونی از منظر کشورهای مرکزی، نوری بر جنبه‌ای نوین از این رمان می‌افکند. <div style="text-align: justify;">In John Ernst Steinbeck’s The Pearl, the family’s futile attempt to lift up from poverty and enhance their social class level is a representation of the peripheral countries’ struggle to gain independence from the core countries in order to cease being looted and controlled by them.
