در ارزیابی کیفیت ترجمه، نوع متن یک عامل مهم است که باید مورد توجه قرار گیرد. بسیاری از پژوهشگران، متون ادبی مانند شعر، نمایشنامه و رمان را بهعنوان موضوع مطالعه خود بررسی کردهاند؛ زیرا متون ادبی از منظر زبانشناسی، زیباییشناسی، فرهنگ و فلسفه نسبت به متون غیرادبی ارزش مطالعه بیشتری دارند. هدف اصلی پژوهش حاضر، ارزیابی ترجمه فارسی کتاب «غرور و تعصب» بود که توسط رضا رضایی و بر اساس مدل کلاینبرگ ترجمه شده است. بدین منظور، از رویکرد تحلیل تطبیقی مبتنی بر پیکره استفاده شد؛ رویکردی که در آن پژوهشگر متون مبدأ و مقصد را از نظر الگوها و مضامین تکرارشونده تحلیل کرد. یافتهها نشان داد که پرکاربردترین راهبردهای ترجمه بهترتیب عبارتند از: ترجمه توضیحی (بازنویسی)، جانشینی (جانشینی معادل، جانشینی معادل تقریبی)، تصریح (افزودن)، ترجمه مستقیم (وامگیری ساختاری، ترجمه جابهجاییدار)، تعمیم و حذف. این بدان معناست که مترجمان به نظر میرسد تلاش میکنند «لحن» فرهنگی متن مبدأ را در چنین متونی حفظ کنند. با این حال، ترجمهها از نظر دومین راهبرد رایج با یکدیگر تفاوت دارند. مهمترین مفهوم پژوهش حاضر، نحوه تحلیل متن مبدأ و متن مقصد یک بافت ترجمهشده بهمنظور بررسی کیفیت ترجمه از انگلیسی به فارسی است. آشنایی با انواع مختلف نظریهها به اندازه عمل در مطالعات ترجمه ضروری است.
